Mike and I love her too. She is so much fun to play with and such a beautiful cat.
But, sometimes Poppy gets into trouble.
She really got into trouble last Friday. We were all enjoying the beginning of the weekend hanging out and cooking when Molly asked if anyone had seen Poppy. We hadn't so Mike, Molly, and I started searching. Once I realized she was not in the house I panicked and started yelling KiKi at the top of my lungs. I ran out into the darkness in the backyard and really started shouting. The neighbors probably thought a woman had gone crazy in the neighborhood. My eye caught a slight movement of white popping out of the small bluff of our creek. "KiKi, is that you?" I yelled. She came running towards me with her trilling meow. I was so happy!! I grabbed her and ran to the house to let Mike and Molly know I had her. We were all relieved.
We couldn't figure out how she escaped but realized after Molly did some investigating, Poppy had found or had created a hole in the screen of our bottom porch. The following photo is the corner she escaped from and if you look closely, she was already planning her escape when I asked Molly to take a photo of me with the tall popcorn plants.
Hopefully the new screen and our excellent job of putting it in will stop her from escaping again!! Today is her last day of being grounded and we are hoping she will now be a.....
