Aunt Maggie Came to Visit

Maggie couldn't wait to come to Iowa to meet Elodie and we were all excited that she came.  She stayed a bit in Davenport and then we packed up to spend close to a week in Cedar Rapids.  It was good to have everyone together again except we didn't have Chase or Finnan with us.

Maggie was very helpful in giving Molly some tips and tricks about a new baby.

Besides tips and tricks, Maggie did all of the cooking and baking.  I wish I would have taken photos of what she made, Tofu Poke Bowl, Stuffed Onions, Cookies, and many other things.  I did think to take a photo of what we had for breakfast one morning, Avocado Toast!

Maggie got to experience a tornado warning where we all had to hang out downstairs.  We were thankful the basement was finished so that we had a nice place to sit around.  Don't worry, the cats were with us too. They just didn't make it in the photo.

Besides all of the cooking and hanging out with Elodie, Maggie found time to put a piece of furniture together for the basement.

We also made a trip to Lisbon to visit Grandma Janelle, Great Grandma to Elodie.

When we got back to Davenport, we decided to go to the Elks Club to watch the Iowa game in our Georgia shirts. Maggie was lucky! She won some money while watching the game!  We celebrated with Jello shooters.  I was so caught up in the moment that it didn't occur to me that I was partaking in eating animal.  I guess I didn't want to be left out of the celebration.

It was sad to see Maggie go back home, as it always is. To make me feel better, I headed back to Cedar Rapids so that we could take Elodie to her very first garage sale, actually a Church rummage sale.  We found out that a stroller makes a very good cart to haul the treasures we found.

And then Molly, Elodie, and sometimes Adrien came to Grandma and Grandpa's house for two weeks.   I took advantage of her nap time to get hugs and read my book.

Soon I will head south to South Carolina to visit my sister and then spend almost three weeks in Georgia. It will be good to spend time with Maggie, Chase, and Finnan!
